We have extensively developed a Five Speed gearbox conversion for the Lotus Elan. This is based on the Ford Sierra Type Nine with extensive modifications. Consisting of a new aluminium bell housing tail extension and centre plate. All cast in LM25 aluminium toughened to T7, using moulds manufactured by ourselves. It is supplied with a comprehensive hardware pack, including clutch plate propshaft yoke cross member reverse light switch and loom and engine to gearbox bolts.
The Sierra gearbox was chosen because it fits easily into the restricted confines of the Lotus chassis and they are readily available with a good spares back up.
